Warrior of the Desert

I promised I would upload this yesterday. I failed. But I was really not happy with how it looked, so I went on, rendering and tweaking everything to my liking. I'm still not quite satisfied with it now still, but what the hell...
This is Marid. He is a Fighter, a semi-divine warrior creature, created by the Goddess Ank, The Pearl of the Oasis, to defend Her side in a quarrel with Her mate, Flerai, The Fisher God. Marid won the battle against Flerai's Fighter and in reward was granted an immortal life, to spend his days cherishing the beauty of life around him.
A blessing it may seem to many, but to him this Gift was a curse. The nature of the Warrior was the only thing he knew. Until now, the only moment when he felt true fulfillment and bliss was during battles, defending the honour and right of his Goddess. Now, robbed of this and tossed into the unfriendly environment of the Ank Desert, this unfortunate soul seeks the happiness he was promised.
Ank's followers, the Zael'kai Zmora, also called the Desert Children don't have an easy life, but they have a strong bond of love and respect to their land, and admire every of their Goddess' creations, as even the smallest of desert animals possesses impressive survival skills.
Marid too tried seeing this beauty and wonder in every living being, yet his Fighter instincts only allowed him to discern whether a creature was a potential opponent, or not. In time, he grew bitter and furious. His powers enabled him to take on the shape of a Zael'kai, as well as that of a giant sandstorm. He soon earned himself the name of the Infamous Desert Fury, a hellish force, that only desires to kill and destroy.
The Priests of Ank prayed to their Goddess and begged him to cease his attacks. He was told that he could still be a loyal servant to Ank, and that, through defending and protecting their camps and caravans, he could regain her grace.
Marid will still randomly attack and kill creatures of the Desert, but will protect th Zael'kai from any malevolent third parties.
Still he remains a Godly Warrior, and as such he is an unpredictable force that won't take orders from any mortal.
His destiny would've remained unchanged, if it wasn't for the interference of a certain Witch and a Zael'kai poet and storyteller named Cassim. Through them, the Warriors nature is changed, he gets draggen along with them into the whirl of changing times, learning to see and understand more and more of the world's beauty.
