The Alchemist's Nightmare by Deyran The Alchemist's Nightmare by Deyran
Hi again! This one here sort of popped out of my ming while I was in the mood for drawing something really cute... My Character Deyran's adopted dragon hatchling Leathara is not allowed near any of her mother's books or magic items without supervision... She just seems to find old, flimsy parchment irresistibly delicious....
Heh, like my cat. He always chews on any random book I'm reading...
=D

Aww, poor little girl, she looks all worn out. (Probably tired from being harassed by the children in the other picture.) At any rate, it seems like a good idea to keep her away from the magic books. I mean, what if she had a nightmare or sneezed or something and set it on fire? O_o

Aww, yeah, but she's still just a baby, and those are either hyper or asleep like the dead ^_^
O_O Ohh, yeah, that'd be one heck of a disaster... But she still thinks that there's not one place more comfortable place than an old, dusty book that smells of knowledge and old parchment...

Awww, baby things are always adorable. (I'm all excited because my character in D&D just saved an infant dragon and now has a tiny new friend - hooray!^_^) And she is right to love books after all; I can't fault her there...

Yup, but sadly, sometimes, they can use their cuteness against us... "How can I ba mad at you, you're so CUUUTE!"
Aww, your character's lucky! Those are not only adorable, but can also become great fighting companions, when grown up a bit.
Heheh, me neither, I could spend all my free time reading... The feeling that I'm holding a whole new world, and a whole new adventure in my hands every single time is always a great experience!

Heh, one day my character's baby will become this [link] so that's going to be awesome. And yes, i love reading to death - although I do get very frustrated with books where I've read all the way to the end and then the ending suck/is unsatisfactory. I feel like I've been tricked!

Oooh, fancy! And it'll give your character practically ulimited powers, too! It'd take quite a bit of an army to take on something like that!
Oh, I hear you there! Especially if you come across the death of a character you really liked! "Nooo! Why'd he have to die!? he was the most epic one of the whole bunch!!!"

Heh we actually just retired that character at 30th level - so I guess she'll spend her epilogue raising the dragon. ^_^

Definitely. I mean, I can tolerate the character dying, but it had better be a noble, epic, meaningful death! I hate when the book just decides, "Well, someone has to die for this book to be "serious" enough so...you! Goodbye."

Aww, a pity, but at least the character'll have a happy end...
Exactly. Like, for instance, the death of Boromir from 'Lord of the Rings'. I cried like never, but at least he sacrificed himself for a reasonable, greater good... Otherwise it'd be just offputting...

:lmao: noooo not that really important alchemical formula I spent the last two years trying to decipher! ARRRGHHH! Honestly who can resist old chewy parchment? Just no one startle her or the whole lot will go up in flames! Nom nom nom, she looks like she's tired herself out with all that chewing.

I like your background by the way, it fits perfectly with that angle stroke, and I love the candle wax dripping over the bottle top like that

 Exactly! Sometimes Murphy's law takes on various shapes, even that of a cute little dragonlet!
That used to happen frequently until Deyran finally learned not to leave her library doors open..
And the worst thing is that you can't be mad at her... She'll just look at you withthose big, round eyes and you'll melt away on the spot...
Thank you~~!

I imagine Leathara scratching at the library doors whimpering and whining to be let in d'awww! Let her in someone!
"I'm so angry! You bad! You bad!" *wags finger* "Aww but here, have another book to chew on, but only this once because you're too cute" It sort of defeats the purpose of a telling off really :D you walk away feeling confused as to what just happened when you had initially gone in full of rage and determined to give her a good yelling at.

Heh, exactly, the fiery storm under the disguise of a cute baby dragon! That trick works every time!
Exactly. It's the puppy dog brainwash jutsu. Nothing with a brain is immune to it... It kills every time...
She just flattens your brain with her utter cuteness and then leaves you in that state of shock and confusion..."What happened just now..?... All I remember is cuteness..."

Cute hyperactive dragon :D *breathes fire in excitement*
:lmao: not even being aware you're in the jutsu can help you break it!
:giggle: does she stay as cute when she gets all big and dragony?

:lmao: Pretty much so, but it's less funny when you have to put out a minor fire everytime she laughs...
That's what makes it scary!
Well, she might evolve from a cute, clumsy hatchling to a gracious, yet still lovely young female... If I let her, that is... She's become a tad of a loose end and I just need to put her somewhere....Heh, yanno, how this is, right?

:lmao: I imagine it's quite shocking the first time! "No! Don't make her laugh, please I beg you, I just rebuilt the living room!" :lmao: I'm imagining her laughing and then a sudden burst of flame erupting out "oops"
Well you could have her go off on some dragon quest, you said that sometimes they leave on their own, perhaps she does that and it's time to say goodbye (plus that way she'll always be around if you ever want her to return!)

:lmao: Yeah, that'd work pretty much like that.
Heh, maybe, I'll think of something, I just can't bear the thought of 'getting rid of her', but I gotta tie that loose end up somehow!
