Marine Light by Deyran Marine Light by Deyran
Hi there! Yeah, so this is another tribute to the glowing fish-thingies in :iconjohannesviii: 's interactive comic 'Alone'. The story has finished by now, and yay, we got the 'good' ending, meaning we survived and escaped. You can find the ending here --> [link]
I just felt like drawing a fish, and since I've recently got myself a new scanner, which was getting fed up with documents and other various very-important-but-totally-useless stuff, I thought 'why not?' and spent 2 hours on this relaxing piece of seafood. I really need to draw more often. I completely forgot how calming that can be. :meditate:

Lol, not really, but I try! Thank you, that fish practically drew itself!
I'm glad you like it!
Also, I'm really sorry I'm not so involved with your comic anymore, but I'm really having more work than i can handle now anyway. I barely have time for anything, let alone DA. Sorry :hug:

Lol congratulations on the new scanner, treat it well and maybe it'll treat you well, but you never can tell with technology :D it does what it wants! This is really haunting and beautiful at the same time, the glow is amazing and I love the shine from the water surface and the fact that you chose to have a feathered edge around the picture rather than a straight frame, the shine is brilliant

Thanks, yeah technology can be weird sometimes. :giggle:
Thanks! I'm glad you like it! This was actually a very quick painting, I'm surprised how much easier stuff gets when you don't have to do everything digitally. I mean the colouring is much easier this way but the initial sketch/lineart is a pain. And I finally got an opportunity to use your 'feathered edges' tutorial!:squee: i've been meaning to for a while now!

It's true! There are loads of shortcuts to digital painting...like scanning in lineart :XD: Oh hoorah! A word of warning though, feathered edges can be addictive!

Rrrrybka. Dawno nie byłem na rybkach. Wygląda sympatycznie. Ciekawie sie prezentują te rozmyte kontury obrazka. :)

Swoją drogą ciekawe co sie stało z rybkami z komiksu ;_;

Heh, ja kompletnie nie mam smykałki do wędkarstwa. Jedynym, co zwykle udaje mi się złapać to jakieś wodorosty, czy stary kalosz. I obowiązkowo katar.
Dzięki, wydawało mi się, że takie kontury będą lepiej pasować do rozmytej, podwodnej atmosfery.

... Też się nad tym zastanawiałam. Biedne rybki. Chyba będą nas nawiedzać świecące duchy-ryby, mszcząc się za wystawienie ich na śmierć głodową.
